The Cassius King Gallery
The story behind the gallery
Opened for 20 months between 2002 and 2004, on the edge of the Gaslamp District in downtown, San Diego, I, Jeremy Farson, along with 3 partners; Richard Kenvin, Josh Hassin, and Alma Ronis, co-owned and operated this popular, underground, art gallery. We hosted a variety of both, up and coming as well as established artists, in group and solo exhibitions. Most of the artwork had an urban aesthetic, while some shows were along the lines of the classical tradition of painting. The Cassius King Gallery hosted nearly one show a month in that 20 month period, and the opening receptions had live musical performances by bands and DJ's, and consistently drew mobs of art scene, hipsters, both young and old.
